Register devices with MDM server

Before an iPad or iPhone can be managed using MDM, they need an MDM profile. This is installed on the device during the initial profile enrollment.

For the use of MDM you are required to be a member of the iOS Developer Enterprise Program in order to use push services.

TARMAC allows you to search through device information using the admin interface:

The enhanced functionality of TARMAC helps manage your Apple mobile devices. Using the integrated inventory management, view all the parameters and stored information from the device at any given time, including current iOS version, installed apps, available space, active user profile, network operator, current phone number and much more.

Inventory Management in TARMAC keeps tabs on your IT infrastructure at all times. With one click you can get the latest information about devices in the field. TARMAC probes meta-data on all your devices, giving you just what you'd expect from a management tool.

 
Configure MDM profiles

MDM Profiles allow relevant settings for each device to be set: in addition to personalized user settings, MDM can administer password requirements, access to camera functions or external services such as YouTube, iPod or the App Store.

Push updates to devices

MDM has a significant advantage - updates, apps and settings can be sent from TARMAC to the iPhone or iPad in the background and OTA. Your users needn't do anything. Push is available for the following information:

  • Device settings
  • Profile changes
  • Web links
  • Security settings

Wipe devices remotely

Mobile devices are often forgotten in a taxi, at a security point in an airport or in a hotel room. MDM allows TARMAC to delete all device data over the internet, ensuring confidential corporate data doesn't fall in to the wrong hands.

Security on the go

An everyday scenario for MDM is the ability to reset passwords OTA. This saves the administrator having to reinstall a device from scratch, if the user has forgotten his password. If the device is accidentally left with a customer or business partner, it can also be locked remotely with a password.
